Foundation Package at Work - Timberline Ace Hardware
Timberline Ace Hardware utilizes Arrowhead Retail Innovations through the Foundation Package, as outlined in the consulting packages and pricing structure. This level of service provides a strategic, outside perspective—helping identify opportunities related to store flow, assortment, merchandising effectiveness, and overall layout.
This engagement is focused on evaluation and planning rather than execution, giving leadership clear, actionable direction to support both immediate improvements and long-term decision-making.
Store Assessment & Strategic Planning – Aspen, CO
Scope of Work
At the Aspen location, the engagement included a comprehensive merchandising assessment of a uniquely configured store. This involved a full store walkthrough as well as an evaluation of the surrounding neighborhood to identify untapped niches and local market opportunities.
Recommendations were provided to expand key categories, including housewares and pet supplies, based on observed demand and store positioning. Additional vendor suggestions were offered to support category development and improve assortment depth.
A strategic recommendation was also made to swap the Electrical and Lawn & Garden departments. This was driven by backstock limitations, seasonal flow considerations, and the opportunity to better position seasonal products within the customer path. An aisle-level layout plan was developed to support this proposed transition.
The result of this engagement is a clear set of actionable insights tailored to Aspen’s unique market, store layout, and customer base—supporting stronger category decisions, improved merchandising strategy, and more intentional space planning.
Store Walk & Operational Assessment – Telluride, CO
Scope of Work
At the Telluride location, support included a high-level store walk focused on evaluating overall store condition and operational readiness. While the department layout was structurally sound, early observations identified several inventory management and organization opportunities.
This assessment provided a starting point for improving product flow, inventory accuracy, and overall store execution within a previously under-evaluated location.
The result of this engagement is a focused set of actionable observations tailored to the Telluride location—providing a clearer path toward improved inventory organization, stronger operational execution, and enhanced overall store performance.
