Project-Based Reset & Merchandising Support – Timberline Ace Hardware, MT

Timberline Ace Hardware is utilizing Arrowhead Retail Innovations through project-based engagements aligned with Level 3 reset support, as outlined in the consulting packages and pricing structure.

This level of service is designed for stores that need targeted, in-store execution with the flexibility to adapt to evolving layouts, corporate initiatives, and category-specific challenges—without committing to a full subscription model.

In one instance, we offered support focused on large-scale aisle repositioning and pre-merchandising in preparation for the Ace Elevate rollout. This included shifting multiple categories, creating space for new fixtures, and improving overall store flow ahead of installation.

In another, the engagement centered on post-project merchandising and category refinement, particularly in areas where corporate planograms offered limited support. This included dry-setting departments, optimizing existing assortments, and making strategic space adjustments to better align with store needs.

In both cases, Level 3 reset support provided the right balance of structure and flexibility—allowing for planogram alignment where applicable, while also adapting to real-world conditions, inventory mix, and store-specific opportunities.

These engagements reflect how project-based services can support both pre- and post-corporate resets, helping stores maximize the impact of larger initiatives while maintaining strong day-to-day shopability and performance.

This included shifting 36’ of electrical accessories 12’ down the aisle to accommodate an added fixture, where a new 12’ section of electrical cords was set. Additional reconfiguration included relocating 28’ of video and audio accessories to a new aisle and moving the entire cleaning department to a different location within the store.

With remaining project time, support extended into the Lawn & Garden department, where rolled wire fencing and gloves were remerchandised to improve organization and presentation.

Housewares Merchandising & Category Adjustments – Livingston, MT

Scope of Work

Livingston Ace Hardware engaged Arrowhead Retail Innovations for a project-based engagement aligned with Level 3 reset support, following the Ace Project Team’s installation of the Elevate merchandising concept.

The primary focus was merchandising and refining the Housewares department—an area with limited corporate planogram support. As a result, much of the aisle was dry set, allowing for a more customized and practical approach based on the store’s existing assortment and customer needs.

The store already carried a strong selection of housewares dropship items, which were integrated into a more cohesive and shopable layout. Additional vendor recommendations were provided to help round out the assortment and strengthen category depth over time.

Further adjustments were made to improve space utilization across adjacent categories. Laundry was incorporated into the Housewares aisle, freeing up 12’ of shelving and storage elsewhere in the store. In Plumbing, bath accessories were remerchandised to create an additional 4’ of space, allowing bath safety items—originally removed during the project—to be reintroduced and properly integrated into the set.

Due to the pace and scope of the project, photos were not captured during or after completion.

This project reflects a flexible, solution-oriented approach—bridging gaps in planogram support while optimizing space, assortment, and overall shopability.
